Contributed to accountability research by researching Biden-Harris Administration appointees and new offices and/or initiatives. Drafted state FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests and summarized incoming FOIA productions in FOIA reports. Wrote a blog post on the intersections between reproductive justice tenets, midwifery, doula care and alternative birth/family planning options. Assisted research team as needed.

Fellowship where participants across Texas get to learn about various aspects of advocacy for pro-abortion policies. Trainings included opportunities to meet with impactful reproductive justice organizations like Janes Due Process and The Afiya center, among many others. Practiced storytelling, political advocacy, learned about the nature of anti-abortion legislation in Texas.

-Read 31 applications to the annual summer Collective Power internship using a holistic method of analysis. Selected seven applicants for interviews with affirmative “yes’s.”-Co-created a training program for selected interns with fellow trainers, including a resource list, Spotify playlist (my personal favorite!) and training timeline. -Facilitated support groups with a group of seven interns throughout their summer placements to offer mental/emotional support, and to discuss reproductive justice topics.-Co-facilitated a Brown Bag Lunch event with fellow trainers. Invited a seasoned professional working in the Reproductive Justice field to talk to interns about their experiences working and growing in the field.

Contributed to opposition research that seeks to pinpoint flaws in anti-abortion rhetoric, and to highlight the extant realities of pregnancy-capable people. -Wrote opposition research that highlights the ideological similarities between advocates against gender-affirming healthcare for transgender youth, and advocates and facilitators of anti-abortion clinics (AACs), more commonly know as crisis pregnancy centers.

Placed at URGE as a part of the 2020 Reproductive Rights Activist Service Corps (now the Collective Power internship) in the role of Policy Intern.-Wrote a memorandum on the intersection of mental health and reproductive justice.-Identified potential policy advocacy avenues in studying the role local and campus police forces play in relation to Title IX investigations in the University of California, California State University and the California Community College systems.-Wrote factsheets informing young people on the nature of policing in Alabama and Texas, which included a map of Texas counties where local sheriffs are enrolled in programs that enhance their level of contact partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
