• A part of a graduation project team, under the supervision of Eng. Mahmoud El Khateeb (Valeo Egypt) , Eng. Mohamed Abdou (Valeo Egypt), Dr. Hassan Mostafa (ONE Lab, CU), and Dr. Samah El-Tantawy (TCCD, CU).• Building and developing the modular approach modules for autonomous vehicles: perception, localization, mapping, planner and controller. Modules were implemented using CARLA 0.9.6 simulator.• Implemented and trained a perception model using middle sensor fusion of RGB camera & LiDAR , implementing UBER’s LaserNet, and applying YOLO’s detection algorithm for model output. Implemented with Tensorflow and Keras.• Implemented and trained YOLO V2 model for image detection with Tensorflow and Keras .• Worked on developing planner, mapping, controller and localization modules to determine and handle different driving scenarios including lane following, emergency stop and lane change scenarios, and integrating the driving modules together to complete the driving task.
