The Food, Living-Related & New Business Development Department operates trading activities related to the agribusiness and living-related products (daily human necessities) in the company. This position works the physical trading of woodchips (to pulp and paper industry), wood, organic sugar, granite and occasional products, handling the following activities:- negotiation, execution and settlement processes between the supplier in Brazil and the buyer overseas (mainly Asia);- act as a headquarter's representative in the commissioned indent operations and also act in proper trading operations;- maritime shipment operations management, either bulk or containerized. On-board vessel attendance on bulk shipments;- teamwork with the Tokyo headquarter, developing new markets and clients worldwide;- development of conjunctural studies for new businesses plans.

- Trading position management, hedging the operations through futures derivatives directly via NY/London brokers and through physical back-to-back;- Strategy liason and execution involving Barry Callebaut's cocoa teams worldwide;- Outright and ratio (flat price and no price established) sales of cocoa powder, mass and butter to domestic and international markets, including intercompany customers (overseas offices and Extrema chocolate plant);- Contracts, trading book, price and forex fixations management;- Brazilian originated cocoa beans pricing, volume tracking of purchases and beans imports monitoring. Contact with suppliers on a daily basis;- Roadfreight, seafreight and airfreight shipments management;- Active role in the PCP (production planning and control) of the Ilhéus plant, assuring the cocoa supply and finished products deliveries, keeping a full time interaction with the plant;- Strong relationship with both domestic and overseas customers, brokers and information providers.

The Trader position handles, as main responsibilities:-Structure barter operations between grains (soybeans and corn) and crop protection chemicals;-Track quotes from CBOT, BM&F and analyze daily market bulletins;-Contact trading companies and brokers, providing market information to BASF Operations Desk;-Issue and manage documents related to the barter operations;-Trade physical contracts, helping to bridge BASF's customers and grain/oilseed purchasers;-Provide information and support to all departments related to the operation, achieving a fine tuning;-Manage the assistance team at fieldwork.

-Business process mapping and analysis, using BPM techniques for improvement and optimization;-Implementation, customization and improvement on SAP Business Suite, with specialization on Sales and Distribution module;-Project Saint-Gobain Brasil (5 months): redesign of commercial processes and implementation of mySAP Business Suíte ECC 6.0 at Telhanorte;-Project Grupo Pão de Açúcar (8 months): registry processes mapping and design, identifying critical points and improvement opportunities.

Mato Grosso State Area

As a Commodities Purchaser in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás and São Paulo, the main responsibilities were:-Negotiate soybeans and corn to origination, at the elevators, trading flat price and no price established physical contracts with producers;-Develop suppliers portfolio and relationship with brokers;-Sell risk management tools to farmers;-Track spot, futures (CBOT) and premiums quotes and reports such as positioning, cash covering, crush and ports line-ups. Analyze daily market reports;-Producers credit analysis and loan operations;-Manage and execute contracts;-Local logistical support;-Provide, weekly, strategic market and crop reports to the headquarter;-Elevator industrial operations monitoring.
