About Omar Passons
I am a city government professional and former human services executive focused on making a difference in the lives of people in need. In June 2022 I joined the City of San José to help lead efforts to prevent and end homelessness and improve quality of life for all members of the community. Prior to this, I led San Diego County's first Office focused entirely on reducing and ending experiences of homelessness throughout the County. The opportunity to help people lead a life of dignity is deeply rewarding. The opportunity to help people I work with leverage their own strengths to live their best life at work is one I'm grateful for. On a personal level, I am deeply committed to lifting up children and to helping show that the circumstances of your birth do not have to dictate the options in your life. And I'm grateful for the love and partnership of my wife.
