•Tested a series of MEMS sensors (piezoresistive, piezoelectric, and chemicapacitive) to identify the most sensitive and effective ethanol molecule detection method•Applied a confidential polymer coating to microcantilever sensor tips to bond ethanol molecules using a microscope-based scanning vibrometer •Authored a technical paper on biological ethanol transport and a technical report on microcantilever MEMS sensors
