Graduate Research Assistant
• In charge of a wide variety of engineering tools, experimental equipment and devices, helping the team with making prototypes and setting up the experimental equipment for the on-going projects in the lab.• Design and rapid prototyping of multiple setups for various materials and design specs, along with developing computational and analytical models to study acoustic energy transfer through metal wall in collaboration with Ford Motor Company. An under-press journal paper is the outcome so far and the project is still in progress.• Design, and implementation of the experimental setup accounting for maximum safety of high-voltage signals inside water, along with samples prototyping, analytical and FEA simulations, in order to study fluid-structure interaction and energy transfer inside fluid between vibrating Micro-Fiber composite beams. Two conference papers and presentations were the outcome. • Design and fabrication of a small-scale wind tunnel as proof of concept with multiple design iterations to achieve maximum efficiency for a multi-disciplinary project: study of collecting mine dust particles with liquid-coated vibrating meshes. This project got ~ $1M funding from mining industry and the second phase is awarded to the same groups for continuation. • Design and manufacturing a test setup accounting for maximum safety of high-voltage signals inside water and multiple data acquisition methods including high-speed camera in order to study of the effect of cavitation-induced shock waves and their energy dissipation through phase transformation in NiTi alloys. Two journal papers were the outcome of this project.
