At the CP Group I worked in a dual capacity, as a Senior Project Manager responsible for the design and construction of the largest recycling complex in North America for Republic Services. I also was the Senior Program Manager in charge of process development and improvement within the mechanical and electrical engineering department. Key projects and accomplishments: •Process Improvement, I assessed and made modifications to the process flow within the engineering department to improve the speed and quality of the designs. This in turn decreased our fabrication process flow time and improved communication between purchasing & shipping which resulted in efficiency increases and profit margins.•Team Leadership, I assisted the department Director in team members’ assessments, re-structuring of the department to improve productivity and performance, and blending the company’s old and new team cultures into one strong team with a collaborative approach. •Program and Project Management, I took the lead in managing a few expansion projects located in Silicon Valley and Fontana, CA. These projects required extensive coordination between owner, contractors, and local public agencies to ensure projects are complaint with latest building codes and regulations. I was also part of a management team supporting Sales Department to develop relationships with new clients on international projects in Africa and the Middle East.

I currently manage 6 Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) on both the Airside and Landside areas of the San Diego International Airport. Some of my responsibilities include: • Coordinate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and tenants to provide project updates and incorporate comments. • Negotiate contact change orders with contractors in accordance with the contract documents, agency, state, and federal regulations.• Collaborate with multidiscipline team members, agencies, and community organizations to build consensus and resolve project related issues.

I switched from the architectural to civil engineering field and was hired as a CADD Drafter. During my five years of employment, I received multiple promotions until I reached the Senior Engineer position. Some of my responsibilities included:• Leading project design teams on public works projects and building site plans. • Oversight of engineering staff during execution of civil-engineering projects, including the design and construction of commercial structures, transportation, and utility projects. • Familiarity with the multiple agency review and approval processes and experienced in expediting projects through the City and County of San Diego review cycles to ensure approval without delay to the project schedule. • Preparation of Project Technical Specifications using Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) format, State of California’s Department of Transportation Standard Specifications (Caltrans), and the “Greenbook”, formally known as the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, which is widely used by Southern California cities and counties.

• Prepare complete architectural package for school modernization projects, lab remodels, custom homes, and tenant improvement projects.• Train design team, and oversee their progress to ensure the production of high quality projects and the implementation of all applicable standards as directed by the lead architect. • Coordinate designs with multidiscipline team members.• Prepare and submit to the City of San Diego packages for building permits and coastal development permits.
