I am an NC Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), which means I see the world as an intricate web of interconnected people, systems, and experiences. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in psychology with a concentration in the development of black children. I followed that up with a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University. I also hold a provisional MFT license in California. My approach is the client is the expert in themselves and their experiences. I simply help them integrate tools, strategies, and my expertise where it serves them best.I come with over 15 years of experience in social justice & mental health advocacy (shoutouts to NCCJ Anytown), as well as 10+ years of practice in delivering therapeutic services & counseling. I know the stifling pain of living between identities and spaces; the struggle to find myself and my voice inside and outside of the workplace. I stand proud to support the work; giving validity & a voice to the marginalized experience. Outside of work, I am a proud military spouse. I am grounded by love, joy, and the struggles of marriage & family. To decompress, give me a good game in any form: gameshows, board games, phone games, videogames; the list is endless! I love adventure and travel; some of my most memorable destinations have included Nigeria, Japan, and France. Not a day goes by that I don’t sing and dance (even if it is to the beat of my own drum). All in all, I am fun-loving, easy-going, no-frills, simply B!
