• I have provided strategic direction to the department and ensured administrative compliance to donor’s guidelines, state & national legislations in 2 different contexts. Equally and most fundamentally, I have ensured that the interventions are not directed by budget availability, rather by the data and methodically thought through concepts by the team leads;• I have supported the health systems strengthening interventions in Lot 12, Lakes State and this has resulted in overseeing interventions across 5 counties, 28 Primary Health Care Units, 14 Primary Health Care Centres, 2 Hospitals (including the state hospital), providing incentives to over 1,100 government health workers across the facilities & health department and also providing leadership to 82 staff, 10 of whom are International staff;• I have significantly grown in planning and I have had the opportunity to manage a multi donor grant facility with fairly complex planning tools, through this I was able to plan and liquidate a Health Pooled Fund grant with a 98% liquidation on 31st March 2023, Started another annual grant with the same funder and this was liquidated at a burn rate of 99% on 31st March 2024. This together with other interventions including three phases of the COVAX 19 campaign across the lot. Cumulatively, the grant managed in the year 2023 was in excess of USD 11.29 Million;• I have ensured quality and timely deliverables on key outputs including the monthly financial reports, planning tools and fund requests and to date, no costs have been disallowed due to non-compliance to donor agreements & guidelines, primarily because of the rigor with which the documents are reviewed and the project team is especially engaged;• I ensured effective working capital management and ensured optimal liquidity, albeit the fast pace with which the activities were being implemented, discretionary interventions were directed by the donors and also the budget adjustments from time to time.

• Attending and making presentations of quarterly management accounts to the board meetings and presenting the audited accounts and annual budget to the annual AGM for the members vote;• Working closely with the senior management team and the board of directors, I supported fundraising and quality implementation of the recurrent grants, this resulted in the increase of the annual budget from USD 100,000# per annum to over USD 570,000# in 2021 and in excess of USD1.5Million over the period 2021 to 2023; • I designed strategies for effective working capital management and ensured optimal liquidity at the back drop of cash outages in the organization. Working with the team, we achieved an immaterial level of disallowable expenditure from grant providers, as opposed to earlier periods where this had become a norm;• Supported the board of directors in the selection of auditors over all the five financial year audits that I was a part of and my last engagement being that of PKF Uganda. The audits have provided unqualified opinions;• I also reviewed financial transactions, accountability documents, control environment especially around the asset management, procurement and mitigated potential fraud on a procurement that was 25% of the grant amount for a specific project which had red flags of fraudulent activity;• I also designed SoPs to support the finance department, updated policy documents and as a novel intervention, an indirect cost policy for the organization after appreciating that the low donor base and large overhead costs could cripple our operations, thus this needed to be addressed with a level of equality and justifiability;• Provided leadership in strategic planning and execution. Preparation and submission of management accounts, projections, draft policy documents to the quarterly board meeting. Engagement of partner Executive Directors, MHM Stakeholders & development partners.

Uganda

• Organizational supervision and management. Recruitment and onboarding of team members as per the approved annual budget, Planning & coordination of the Annual General Meeting, ensuring collaboration and correspondence with partners & stakeholders, foster a desirable culture and monitoring compliance to policies & procedures;• Financial management. Operationalization of the 2021 budget, ensuring timely financial reporting both for the donors and the board members as well as internal reports. Also ensured working capital management was optimal;• Provided program support and coordination. Oversee overall planning, budgeting, design and implementation of the program and ensure that best practices are shared across board;• Supported with the restructuring of the organizations HR with re design of the Senior Management team & structure, job titles & job descriptions, recruitment & onboarding of staff including the Executive Director and the Ugandan board of directors;• Development of Standard Operating Procedures in response to COVID 19 adaptation and keeping the organization running during the pandemic
