My main role is to assist businesses in Lancashire in their efforts to achieve Net Zero. Advising businesses of various ways to reduce energy consumption, improve environmental efficiencies, and introduce low carbon and renewable energy technologies. Other duties involve carrying out onsite audits of businesses, preparing carbon footprint reports and carbon reduction plans. Delivering masterclasses that guide businesses who want to implement an Environmental Management System.Mapping businesses core activities against the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

My main role was to deal with customer enquiries and complaints over the phone. Key skills gained:-Communication Skills; talking to customers and colleagues in a professional manner. Learnt to communicate clearly and concisely whist dealing with customer enquiries.-Coaching and training new and existing colleagues ensuring they have the right tools and information to deliver outstanding customer service.- Flexibility to work in a range of different departments such as the payments team, as a quality assurance advisor, and stepping up into management roles.-Use of information technology; learnt how to use different IT packages.-Problem solving skills; trained complaint handler dealing with complex customer issues; Developed new standard operating procedures because of problems and countermeasures identified; Ability to think on my feet when dealing with unusual situations; listening to changing demands of clients and adjusting to their new needs.

This was an unpaid work experience which involved helping the organisation to establish how it could use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework to measure impact and progress. My main duties involved reviewing the SDGs and understanding how other companies use it as a reporting framework, and how the SDGs are implemented.

I assisted the Chief health and safety inspector during my National Youth Service programme,which is like a placement that graduates go for to gain experience in their chosen field, to ensure companies and organisations were adhering to the health and safety guidelines and procedures.-Necessary actions were taking against companies not adhering to set health and safety procedures.-Training and guidance on health and safety practices in the work place(onsite and offsite) given to companies where necessary.
