As a subject matter expert, I played a key role in analyzing and proposing the future state of compensation for a population of 11,000 employees. This involved data analysis, where I utilized complex documents to model the impact of a revised compensation plan on both the company and its workforce. I collaborated with multiple departments to map payroll preparation processes and assess the impact of the new plan. Additionally, I co-led the development of a new tool to streamline the weekly processing of incentive payments by ingesting data from multiple sources.I also authored training documents and standard operating procedures for the new tool. During the Workday payroll implementation for an acquisition, I gathered historical data, completed data conversion, and facilitated three cycles of payroll parallel processing to ensure accuracy. I served as a subject matter expert in Payroll Tax, Time Tracking, and Payroll throughout the Workday implementation, providing configuration, requirements gathering, testing, and training.In my role, I analyzed changing business needs, configured, reviewed, and implemented system upgrades and patches, and troubleshot system issues to provide corrective actions. I also offered business consulting services to internal customers, partnered with leadership and HR functions to identify opportunities for process improvements, and supported the payroll team by resolving issues, answering payroll inquiries, and providing training.

I researched upcoming tax laws and changes, maintained tax rates across multiple systems, and processed taxable events within payroll. I reconciled tax deposits on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and assisted with acquisitions, including the transfer or closure of payroll tax accounts. Additionally, I responded to federal, state, and local tax notices and managed the W-2 process for 33,000 employees. I also supported Payroll Analysts and Accounting Clerks in resolving employee tax issues.

I managed the payroll process on a daily, weekly, and biweekly schedule for over 6,000 employees across multiple software platforms. I completed monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes manually at the federal level and in over 45 states for 11 companies. I also manually processed and distributed approximately 6,000 W-2s annually. Additionally, I submitted payroll ACH files and positive pay, reconciled payroll accounts, and resolved discrepancies. I maintained confidentiality to protect payroll operations and approved the calculation of payroll liabilities, including federal and state taxes, social security, unemployment, and workers' compensation payments.
