I am passionate about energy in all forms, from Molecules to Electrons, New Energies and Old, as they help make the World go round and more importantly make lives better, when energy is responsible for half of the world's fertiliser supply. As an investor and financier, I have been involved in over $500M of equity investment in early stage and mature companies, led $billions of senior debt financings, dealt with the less glamorous side of restructurings and every step of the way I have been privileged to work alongside extraordinary people. Today the energy sector is seeing its most profound change since the advent of the age of oil, with innovation in technologies, business models and companies competing for survival or domination. In this context, ensuring access to sustainable finance whilst taking into account climate change and the imperative of a just transition is a fascinating challenge. But energy is not just about fuel or heat, it also helps feeds half of the world's population with ammonia based fertilizers. little known fact that >95% of the 180 million tons per year of ammonia comes from hydrocarbons and fertilizers emissions footprint is equivalent to the carbon emitted by shipping and aviation combined. Greening fertilizers through green hydrogen is not just a challenge but a huge opportunity to tackle a market that exists today. With ATOME, we aim to be at the spear end of this transition, ensuring the supply of green fuels matches the ambitions of the market, the policy makers and the consumers. We will be delivering by putting into application all the best practices of developing and de risking projects, bringing together strong offtakers to grow the market for the Green Hydrogen and Ammonia we will produce, work with best in class suppliers and EPCs, and mobilize all the financing resources, international lenders, development finance institutions and providers of concessional financing which are available for the right green projects led by the right teams ***For connections requests, if we have not met in person, an introductory note is a must***
