I´m an economic/urban geographer. Currently, I´m vice-rector for strategy and development at the University of Ostrava, a medium-sized university with 10,000 students and over 1,400 employees. I´m responsible for a department with over 25 employees. The localization of this university influenced my research interests, which are as follows: transition of industrial (shrinking) regions/cities with a particular focus on governance, agency, and planning. From a thematical perspective, my research is focused on culture, culture and creative industries, city center/inner city regeneration, and change of industrial structures. More recently I have shifted my research towards low-carbon regional (just) transition.
