1. Warehouse Design and Infrastructurea. Understand business strategy and facilitate its achievement through sound forward planning and the maintenance of warehousing infrastructure that is effective, adaptable and focused on the need to deliver an excellent service to all customers b. Ensure space is fully utilised and configured for efficient functionality across several material/stock holding sites, with ease of access and flow avoiding bottlenecks and facilitates cross-docking needs. c. Establish and maintain systems and processes that support quality control, record keeping, and performance measurement, utilising best practices and technology to remain up-to-date and efficient.d. Maintain the warehouse plant at optimum workable condition and efficiency. e. Ensure continuous focus on Health & Safety and the strengthening of security practices regarding stock and warehousing buildings, including fire prevention initiatives.2. Receiving of Materials & Goodsa. Closely monitor and regularly review the receiving operation for effectiveness, initiating improvements for the operation.b. Develop and maintain close relationships with customs and quarantine officers staying abreast of regulations for the clearing of containers and other goods.c. Maintain speedy, safe and careful process for the unloading of goods ensuring team and materials are unaffected. d. Ensure process requires strict checking of quantities and quality of goods received and that the team is always cognisant of receiving’s importance as the first point of inventory control and the capturing of sufficient, accurate and relevant information. e. Require and deliver clear and frequent communication with purchasing, accounting and internal customers to ensure the receipt and dissemination of relevant and pertinent information.3 Storage of Materials & Goodsa. Ensure stock is stored appropriately, rotated regularly and re-arranged as necessary for additional storage facilities when required.b
