That’s when Fiona McDougall and I founded OneWorld Communications. It turned out to be just as diverse in the US too – culturally, in media, in technology. At OneWorld Communications I developed a strategic process to help us create messaging that excites the customer and community and integrate all the elements of a multi-force campaign. It's called ACE–Align, Create, Engage®. We have successfully used the ACE philosophy and process to align clients to target audiences (Align), create marketing campaigns (Create), and implement them (Engage) to achieve success in a wide variety of contexts. Successful projects include: ✔ Created 500% growth of the social media community of BioBag, the environmental company which manufactures compostable bags✔ Helped increase by 60% to 126,000 incoming new customer calls seeking amplified telephones and other assistive telecommunications devices for the CTAP. Increased Spanish and Chinese speaking requests by 169% and 126%✔ Development of English and Spanish television advertising spots for CalRecycle, aimed at promoting e-waste recycling✔ Conducted a research study with 12 focus groups in Chinese, Spanish, Hmong, and Vietnamese languages, and with African Americans, youth, seniors, LGBTQ, Native Americans about perceptions of mental illness and created a campaign strategy to eliminate stigma of mental illness ✔ Creation and publication of a monthly newsletter for the Federal USAID “Saving Lives At Birth “ program which creates innovative technologies for neonatal care in developing countries.Now we focus on creating documentary fuilms about culture, art, ideas, and people.☞ www.OneWorldSF.com/work

Established the SADC Centre of Communication for Development in Harare. Project was financed by the Italian Cooperation for Development through FAO. Communications Project Manager And Producer In Italy / Africa / ElsewhereUnited Nations - Food And Agriculture Organization 1983 - 1994Italy, Kenya, Bangladesh, Sudan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Turkey, OthersCreated public awareness campaigns for a disease eradication program serving 34 African countries: The Pan African Rinderpest Campaign (PARC) financed by the European Union. FAO stationed me in the Organization of African Unity (OAU) as the Regional Communications Adviser for the international team and participating countries 1989-93. Global eradication was finally declared in 2011! I developed the communication campaign concept, methodology, and creative materials as an adaptable template, and worked with national teams in 8 countries to adapt the campaign, promote participatory communications, use social marketing approaches, and produce message materials to be effective in their own cultures. I also presented the rationale for budget investment at national and international meetings. (Job Title: Chief Technical Adviser, P-4) Also was the FAO Information Coordinator at the Joint FAO/World Health Organization (WHO) “International Conference on Nutrition”, Rome; I was the emergency communications planner in the UN team sent on short notice to Turkey / Kurdistan to fight a disease outbreak, 1997.For FAO, in various countries, I also developed communications strategies and produced original media including two dozen audio-visual programs, radio programs, communications guides, and other materials to promote various initiatives and technologies to help people to improve their lives in developing countries, including topics of watershed management, conservation, tree-planting, anti-desertification, erosion control, animal husbandry, disease control, and others. I planned a rural Development Communications infrastructure (Ethiopia) used by policymakers. I co-authored FAO's "Development Communication", an overview of this discipline. For the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan, Nigeria, and Agrisystems srl, Rome Italy, I created various communications materials such as scripts and audio-visuals.
