On June 23, 2014, BC’s first female golf professional, Ginny Golding, was looking to help educate young girls in Africa by raising $65,000 for the Canadian Harambee Education Society (CHES) by playing 65 holes of golf on her 65th birthday.In March 2013, I developed new website content about the event/charity, wrote a press release and pitched it to media. This outreach helped create awareness for the event and captured local media attention, resulting in articles in The Vancouver Sun, Inside Golf Magazine and Kelowna Capital News. It also resulted in Ginny being a guest on, Global TV's Weekend Morning show a week before the event.One Swing at a Time was a huge success, raising over $80,000 for the charity.
