Asset Lead of the Moerdijk Lower Olefins (MLO) plant including hot utilities for Shell Moerdijk. MLO is a world-scale steam cracker with the main products being Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene and Benzene. I am accountable for the technical availability of MLO, and I ensure that the execution of Maintenance, Project & Turnaround activities is done per plan (OPEX and CAPEX) and in compliance with our HSSE, legal and industry standards.

MLO is a world-scale steam cracker with the main products being Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene and Benzene. I am responsible for all maintenance activities in MLO to ensure technical availability of the unit in compliance with our HSSE, legal and industry standards.

Maintenance Supervisor for Workshops and Site Services (the Central Maintenance department), directly reporting to the Maintenance Manager of Shell Moerdijk. My responsibilities include: Central Workshops Rotating and Static Equipment, Major Rotating Equipment, Site Services (buildings, infrastructure, warehousing, HVAC, etc.), Cleaning & Waste, Tank maintenance and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) program execution. During Turnarounds on site my team coordinates all Off-Plot activities.

Assistant to the Maintenance Supervisor of MSPO-1 and MSPO-2, two world-scale Styrene-Monomer and Propylene Oxide chemical plants. Together with the Maintenance Supervisor, I was responsible for all maintenance activities on these plants to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards including technical availability. During the Aquarius project in Moerdijk I deputised as Maintenance Supervisor.

Advisor to the board of ExTra, as founder and former General Manager.

ExTra organises additional educational training for pupils at high schools, such as training for the final exams in May and tutoring in mathematics during the whole range of a school year. As GM I preside the group of ExTra's partners to ensure we have the right trainers, teaching materials and contact with schools to help as many pupils as we can. Our mission is to make tailored and effective educational support, accessible for everyone.

After noting the need of high school students for extra exam preparation courses, I founded ExTra in collaboration with the Herbert Vissers College in Nieuw-Vennep. I assembled a team of ±10 academic students with whom courses were thought up and given to high school students. After managing two seasons of successful operation at the HVC, I onboarded four friends and made ExTra into a company.

Currently my main activities include consulting with the general manager, maintaining the quality management system and general problem solving. I have helped expand the activities of the company from solely perennial export nursery (vrholland.com) by adding the growing of fruit sold to individuals (zelfplukken.nl) and the care farm certification.After quite some years of being at Van Reeuwijk, I have come to see the GM as a personal friend and I no longer consider my activities there to be `work'. I know the company inside out and am able to manage its activities in absence of the GM.
