Ons Kharrat is a senior Software Engineering student pursuing her five-year undergraduate studies at the Mediterranean Institute of Technology (MedTech) in Tunis, Tunisia. She is a recipient of the prestigious "Full Excellence Scholarship," awarded to outstanding students demonstrating excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities.Currently, Ons serves as a Full Stack Developer at Stackdrop, where she builds internal tools for global clients, facilitating the centralization of their operations and enhancing their team's productivity.Selected as the sole mentee from Tunisia for the hybrid, year-long 2023 Young Leaders Fellowship Program implemented by MCW Global, Ons attended a ten-day immersive, in-person training at New York University and Champlain College. She is currently leading the implementation of a project addressing access to educational opportunities in Tunisia, with ongoing support from MCW mentors.As a 2021-2022 Thomas Jefferson Scholar, Ons earned the highly competitive TJSP scholarship to study Computer and Information Technologies at Missouri State University for one academic year. During her time in the USA, she represented Missouri State University in various competitions, achieving notable accolades such as 2nd Place in the Apps Development Category at the USITCC competition and the 10th Best Native Arabic Debater Award at the U.S. Arabic Debating Championship organized by Qatar Debate.Since 2015, Ons has been coaching in the First Skills Club, developing and delivering year-long programs in mobile app development, robotics, web development, and communication skills for 100+ mentees aged 12 to 20. In her role as Supervisor and Administrative Coordinator within the organization, she has trained coaches and assistant coaches, equipping them with the tools necessary for implementing successful coaching programs.Selected for the 2017 TechGirls exchange program, Ons’s experience in the U.S. has empowered her both personally and academically, broadening her resources and networks and enabling her to initiate projects in her community.Dedicated to creating meaningful change, Ons aspires to provide alternative learning methods for students in her country and the broader region.
