International Student Office, Başkent University2019 – 2024Together with a talented team and highly professional senior colleagues, I co-established the International Student Office at Başkent University in 2019. I began with a cohort of 30 international students, which grew to over 400 from various countries by the end of my tenure. We focused on innovating and enhancing the international student application and adaptation process. Over the course of 5 years, I proudly accomplished the following:Developed an innovative, digital application and registration system for international students, significantly reducing paper waste and office equipment use.Led the implementation of social media strategies and produced YouTube tutorial videos to assist incoming international students.Integrated the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) system into our processes, streamlining Erasmus applications and participation.Contributed to the Erasmus program both before and during the pandemic, utilizing EWP after its launch and adapting to new tools introduced by the Turkish government for online Erasmus applications.Hosted and facilitated visits from key officials, including embassy representatives, government branches, hospitals, and corporate leaders, at Başkent University’s Bağlıca Campus.Solved a persistent packaging issue in the university's milk factory, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving. (and achievement is achievement after all)Of course, there are countless other situations where, as "problem solvers," we overlook mentioning our contributions. Nevertheless, I gained invaluable knowledge and experience, learning from everyone—from the sanitation staff to the university rector.
