“What do you wanna be when you grow up?” A question that always comes up when I was having a conversation with someone elder than me before I really being considered grown-up. I like design and beautiful things. My journey of exploring brought me into the field of language and communication. While learning and exploring the importance of language and communication for individuals with special needs as well as individuals with certain medical conditions, it teaches me to see and learn to see more beautiful things in our lives. And also, to appreciate all the beautiful things we have.I have worked with adults with swallowing difficulties, acquired speech and language difficulties due to medical conditions such as stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and other related medical conditions. I work with children with speech and language delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, hearing impairment, and other communication disorders.To be able to breathe, to eat, to listen, to understand, to express, to communicate are the small things I need to appreciate.Currently, I am exploring and looking into ways to better support and empower parents in facilitating their child in his/her journey to understand, to express, and to communicate better.
