My activities are mainly focusing on development of molecular tools for use in discovery and understanding microbiology with a focus on parasites in the wider interpretation. Often more focused on wet lab. New tools allow us to adress surveillance and biosecurity in a better way creating increased understanding of various infectious diseases. Early adopter visionary and curious. Skills include conceptualisation, planning, executing and managing projects (or teams). I try to be active in the lab to stay close to problems and implementation of new solutions, and appreciate first principles thinking to complex problems. I embrace new technology, such as that we have on NGS (WGS/metagenomics/nanopore). Other interests include; metagenomics, metabarcoding, biobank, microfluidics DNA-vaccinology; machine-learning and AI and Blockchain technology. Experience with implementation of new technologies, method development, instrumentation & automation, digitalisation, data admission comitte work, public procurements; project conception & application. Current research includes coccidia and intestinal disease, mitogenome protocols, poultry red mite Dermanyssus gallinae, tick-borne diseases and animal metagenomics; Hunt En helse/Hunt One Health, surveillance & diagnostic monitoring and molecular epidemiology of Poultry Red Mite in Norway. Participant in the NVI Biobank group (including planning and implementation). Was co-applicant of a funded digitialisation project DIGMEDFISK (Difi medfinansieringsprosjekt) for NVI.
