I examined the structures formed by mixing oppositely charged silica nanoparticles and chitosan (a biopolyelectrolyte), and how these structures evolved with time using a combination of x-ray techniques including: SAXS and XPCS.

I managed a team that took an idea, developed it into a new product, and ran a pilot in another continent. This was in addition to completing my final year of chemical physics. My co-founder and I have been featured in the Start-Up Interviews. Zimbabwe

I spent three months volunteering with Progressio ICS in Zimbabawe as part of a team composed of British and Zimbabwean volunteers. Our work focused on community development through delivering educational sessions to women's groups and schoolchildren.

12 month industrial placement in the formulation technology group at Syngenta as part of my degree. Amongst other things I learned about colloid science, rheology and microscopy.

Worked as part of a team of brand managers on the University of Edinburgh campus. We networked efficiently and effectively with students and university representatives to promote Teach First on campus.Organised events including a pub quiz and fundraising ceilidh over the course of the year - sourced all venues and entertainment for free.Carried out the Teach First 2013 University Campus Survey.Exceeded all targets for the year.
