Control Systems Engineer Ii

Attached to the Maintenance Department of the Calgary, AB packaging/corrugation operation. I spent the first 9 months just getting all electronics and controls back into operational condition. These were, for the most part, the OEM supplied controls of the various corrugation and converting equipment. After the plant was up and functional I expanded out to add automation and controls, as well as process monitoring to the various systems and equipment in use. This included a conversion of the corrugator thermal controls, the adhesive (starch mixing) and some intelligent conveyor system upgrades.Domtar was merged into Norampac in 1996

Honestly, the vast majority of what was done here I failed to understand but what little did stick was put to good use in the expansion of my career as a motion control and automation expert. Basically my job was eliminated due to election day promises. The memories continue however as I believe this was the most fun place that I have ever worked.
