Open Roads is a Northamptonshire initiative. We would value any contact with people in Northamptonshire who’s values overlap with ours. We also want to hear from you if you have problems, need help or are struggling with a disability. We need your feedback to improve the way Northamptonshire progresses. We aim to: •Pull together services and experts and the users to work together. •Provide a safe place with people and services to empower and treat people who need assistance. •Help individuals at all stages of disability and provide organisations and services with a library/resource centre.Promote change of perception of disability in the community at large through education and experience - particularly in the youth culture (schools). Provide basic knowledge and life skills to enable empowerment for differently abled people for the same right to achieve their goals as anyone else. We want to work with other organisations (including councils and government) to support issues in the community and globally to create unity of purpose and collaboration Network to promote the disability rights movement. To use education and the media to achieve an equal status for disabled people in all spheres. Disability is what unites us not separates us.Enable independent living through advocacy and training. To equip disabled people and their families with the tools to be self sufficient and live independently in the community at large. Become a ‘Centre of Excellence’ offering an all encompassing, holistic service.
