About Ophir Moshkovitz
I'm a graphic designer with a parallel passion for visual and written communication, plus a keen interest in technology and automation. I believe that the future of design is harnessing tech to streamline processes and reduce errors, allowing us creatives to do the truly important work—make beautiful and innovative designs that other humans can connect to.I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of British Columbia, where I majored in English Literature, completed 3 co-op semesters, and did a study abroad semester in London, England. I've always been fascinated with how the written word can not only communicate a message but invoke emotion. And yet I knew that that wasn't the whole story. Growing up, I was drawn to magazines and coffee table books, fascinated by the layout and typography as much as the content of the publications themselves.During my co-op terms while at UBC, I found opportunities to work on projects involving Adobe Suite programs like InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I taught myself the basics of the programs and felt a natural aptitude for design. After graduation, I decided to enroll in a Graphic Design Certification at BCIT to fill in the gaps of what I couldn't teach myself. With these courses, I solidified graphic design as my calling, a decision I reaffirm every day as I dive into each of my projects with enduring enthusiasm.I'm still drawn to beautifully designed objects and publications just as I was as a kid. When I'm not working, I love to mill around used bookstores or vintage stores, gathering inspiration. I've recently developed an admiration for well-designed cookbooks, and I've supplemented that interest by also learning to make what's in those cookbooks (in another life, in another universe, I might be a pastry chef). When I'm not at my laptop designing, or in the kitchen baking, I spend my time in the gym lifting heavy and getting those endorphins flowing. All of that to say, my keys to inspiration and creativity are: 1) Letting myself be a beginner with compassion and grace2) Never being afraid to ask questions3) Trusting in my ability to adapt and learn
