Developed at the New Museum’s cultural incubator, Collecteurs is a public-benefit corporation and the world's first collective digital museum. Collecteurs is a home for those who want to keep the art world public. Our mission is to open doors to art, ideas, and stories meant to be shared. While our platform centers collectors, our community extends beyond an artwork’s owner. This includes artists, galleries, curators, art workers and anyone who wants to discover, read, and seek inspiration from art.

Those who own artworks have a set of ethical duties towards such artworks, their authors, and the professional environment surrounding them. Ethics of Collecting proposes the world's first Code of Conduct for Contemporary Art Collectors as a first – but firm – step in that direction.
