I am currently working with a small team on Junto Talent, the first university based platform that hosts the exchange of project specific work between businesses and students. We spent many hours working with awesome professors at BYU-Idaho to develop a business model that not only facilitates this connection but also turns a profit. We have presented the idea before multiple groups of investors and have earned seed funding for the startup. Currently, Junto Talent is being built and launched on the campus of the University of Utah.

Rexburg Idaho

I have the great opportunity of working directly with some of the greatest entrepreneurial minds in the region. As an intern for the startup "Emmersion Learning", I get to engage in many of the key activities that are necessary for launching a new venture. I perform market research on universities, language learning companies, and test preparation centers that offer similar value propositions and have generated a list of almost 100 institutions with information about each one. I have written a survey in Chinese that is designed to gather relevant information about how students in Chinese speaking countries learn English. I have participated in strategy sessions offering suggestions for the organization of the business from the concepts I have learned at BYU-Idaho. I have compiled a detailed list of almost 20 LMS platforms that could facilitate our product. I have used my fluency in Mandarin to understand the customers of one of our target markets and reached out to educators in Chinese speaking countries to further my understanding. I have done all these things and many more that have already significantly helped me better understand the core components of a startup.

I love business! Especially entrepreneurship, which is why I considered myself very lucky to assist a very impressive professor who taught Small Business Creation. This turned my learning experience at BYU-Idaho into a double edged sword because not only was I meeting regularly to review material for the class I was assisting him with, I was also taking upper level classes very similar which helped solidify core principles related to business and entrepreneurship. It was a privilege to work so closely with the professor. He became and continues to be a great mentor to me. He was always willing to answer all of my questions, and provide direction for my own Entrepreneurial pursuits. Beyond the work we were doing for his class and questions related to business, the professor also showed deep interest in my personal life and taking time to learn more about my interests and life's goals. I loved being involved in education, especially at such a great institution, with such a great faculty.

Byu-Idaho

A general tutoring session involved meeting with students one on one and going over specific questions, reviewing the reading, and developing better study habits. My greatest joy as a tutor was getting text messages of sheer joy from students that met with me and saw a significant improvement in their test results. I tutored four different courses offered at BYU-Idaho: Chinese 101, 201, 301, and an American History course (AMFD 101). For the Chinese courses, I enjoyed meeting with students on a weekly basis reviewing listening, speaking, reading, and writing Mandarin Chinese. I felt that this was a great opportunity to not only help those who were learning Chinese for the first time, but also an excellent opportunity to help maintain my Chinese fluency.I love my country, so reviewing American History with students was always a treat for me. The core topics for this section included: major historic events and people, economics, forms of government, and politics.

South East Idaho

I organized the first Amateur Baseball League in South East Idaho. In SEIABL's first year, the league had nearly 80 players sign up that were organized into 5 teams. The league featured athletes of all experience and capability including ex-collegiate and professional baseball players.An all-star team made up of athletes in the South East Idaho Amateur Baseball league called the: "East Idaho Threads", compete in a semi-professional league.
