Represented this major diversified beverage, wine and industrial company in the media and the community for corporate responsibility issues, sponsorship of events and community related matters. I always enjoyed dealing with the media to 'flip the bird' using crafty media tactics at the interstate giants Fosters and Bond Brewing when they were attempting to invade South Australia's beverage market.

Managing staff placements and directing journalistic and news gathering teams. Negotiating media coverage with News Group managers in other State offices. Senior reporting across all areas of journalism and taking a new, lead role in ways to leverage our depth of staff skills to creating joint-venture marketing & promotional opportunities with other media outlets in TV and Radio. I negotiated sharing information with Channel 9's 60 Minutes on some massive SA crime stories.

Covered the biggest stories and helped produce the 6 PM National Nine News bulletin as it went 'live' to air. Taking risks was very much part of this job as a young guy. Shoot-outs, bushfires, tracking down and trapping con-men, playing with helicopters! Learning from cameramen who'd been active in the Vietnam War. "Let the pictures do the talking mate..." was great advice for a print journo moving into TV reporting.
