My time with Dematic has given me the opportunity to sharpen and develop my technical skills using software tools that are heavily used in the material handling industry such as Rockwell Software (Logix 5000 and FT View), AutoCAD E and Wonderware. I've been apart of over 20 startups nationwide as a key member of the FedEx Ground Sortation and Amazon Fulfillment programs. Both of these designs use a wide range of conveyance products that are also heavily used within the industry and required me to interface with them often while on-site. A high level of understanding was created because of this.In the past few years I have transitioned into lead roles on these projects which has given me opportunities to interact more with leads of other disciplines, project management and customers directly. Being able to oversee projects from start to completion from this higher level perspective has provided me valuable insight and experience.A nice balance of in-house design tasks/assignments to go along with on-site commissioning and trouble-shooting is a key benefit to working with Dematic and has allowed me to become a well-rounded engineer. This skill set of being flexible, going from design engineer to project engineer goes a long way as far as productivity and meeting completion dates. On personal level, it's always a high priority of mine to ensure the people I'm working with are always comfortable approaching me with any questions or concerns and I understand that keeping an open line of communication is key to the success of any project/assignment I'm involved in.
