Supported Stripe’s Banking-as-a-Service product teams, including Stripe Issuing (credit, prepaid and debit card creation) and Stripe Capital (business financing, including loans and merchant cash advances). Owned key legal issues, working across legal disciplines, including commercial, regulatory and data privacy, and collaborated extensively with legal specialists, outside counsel, and various stakeholders in order to drive consensus and further business objectives and key results. Advised on all aspects of the product life cycle in the U.S. and internationally, from product development through launch and post-launch. Led the negotiation of strategic partnership and key product deals. Developed and managed terms of service and user agreements for new and existing products. Improved efficiencies, promoted self-serve by internal business teams and expedited go-to-market through development of template agreements and communications, playbooks, processes, trainings and other tools. Lead legal support for Visa’s fintech/emerging payment solutions, co-brand and prepaid business lines; provided legal support for Visa’s issuer and merchant businesses. Served as first-line legal resource to flag issues across legal disciplines and business functions, including privacy, data protection, regulatory and product development. Collaborated with U.S. and global stakeholders to drive business goals through the negotiation of strategic partnerships and complex commercial transactions with Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, financial institutions and other participants in the global payments system. Developed template agreements, playbooks, tools, processes and trainings and helped redefine policies to scale legal support, enhance work flow and ensure legal compliance. Co-chair of Visa Pride, Visa’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group; member of the Employee Engagement Task Force and the Legal Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Acted as lead associate in broad-based finance practice, representing lenders and borrowers in all aspects of secured and unsecured, senior and mezzanine, single bank and syndicated credit facilities. Drafted, reviewed and negotiated finance and corporate agreements and other documentation, including credit agreements, commitment papers, collateral documents and legal opinions, and facilitated closings of commercial finance transactions. Managed deal teams, including collaboration with other practice groups and supervision of mid-level and junior associates and legal assistants.

Represented investment banks, commercial banks, strategic investors and public and private companies in structuring multi-million and multi-billion dollar secured and unsecured credit facilities (including syndicated loans, acquisition financings, asset-backed loans and debtor-in-possession facilities) and mergers and acquisitions. Drafted and assisted in negotiation of corporate documents, commitment papers, credit agreements, merger agreements, asset purchase agreements and other general contracts and worked with clients to prepare related disclosure schedules. Managed all aspects of closing complex commercial transactions, including drafting organizational documents and ancillary agreements, conducting due diligence, coordinating specialist and local counsel review of transaction documents, working with clients to prepare SEC filings and overseeing a team of junior associates and legal assistants. Collaborated with cross-functional practice groups and reviewed and assisted in drafting and negotiation of various transaction agreements. Represented pro bono clients in corporate, immigration, landlord-tenant and Holocaust reparations matters.
