I bring my experience as a jazz musician and composer to product work, emphasizing listening, creativity and improvisation backed by deep understanding of the subject matter.At ICFJ, I developed and managed global journalism development programs and managed technology initiatives, building on my earlier experience developing, marketing, and delivering mobile and web-based solutions for consumer and business customers. As Director, Technical Product Management at PBS, I led the development of PBS LearningMedia (http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/) a web-based streaming media service for K-12 educators. Before joining PBS, I spent 10 years at Nokia in a variety of roles related to the creation and promotion of mobile software platforms and products for smartphone and feature phone platforms. I have a background in software engineering and architecture, with experience in a wide range of applications including 3D graphics, machine translation, Web application development and database design. I earned an MS in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.Specialties: Software product & program management, nonprofit program development, grant writing, international collaboration and virtual teamwork
