As his grandfather had done before him, Rob grew up in the 1907 Queen Anne/Shingle Style family home in Waynesville, NC which instilled a deep seated interest in renovation, carpentry and home building. Teaching high school science in his hometown just out of college, he soon left the schoolhouse to pursue his dream of becoming a green builder. For the next two decades, Rob renovated and built many Asheville homes with common characteristics: high quality + performance, durable, comfortable and healthy with a respectful regard to design. Before joining The Hands of Sean Perry Co., he worked across the country as a consultant for organizations such as the US Green Building Council, the Clinton Foundation, and has authored articles for Fine Homebuilding, This Old House and Green Building Advisor. Rob is a dedicated husband and father of two wonderful, young daughters and, again, akin to his grandfather, a humble student of saxophone and photography.
