I have been active in the Turkish & Southeastern Europe PE / VC market for the last 18 years. During this time, I have acquired 20 growth companies, obtaining control / joint control, and invested €250m.My technology journey began 13 years ago when I joined Mediterra and spearheaded the technology practice, eventually becoming a leading growth technology investor in Turkey. During this time I invested in 17 companies (6 portfolio companies, 10 bolt-on acquisitions and 1 de-merger) with a total investment amount of €150m, and exited all but one, while providing top quartile Euro IRR cash returns to our investors.Looking back at my 13 year journey, I am most proud of:(i) being able to create value through strategic initiatives, such as: (a) strategic bolt-on acquisitions and post-merger integrations (10 in total), (b) pivoting to new products / services to create competitive advantages and increasing recurring revenues (i.e. 10% to 57% of total sales for Logo Yazilim and 0% to 76% of total sales for GlassHouse), and (c) establishing 3 new business ideas under separate entities within the portfolio companies by way of intrapreneurships (i.e. created Yazara, the global leader in softpos technology, which was acquired by a US processor),(ii) being able to attract (and maintain) best in class teams (hired / mentored c. 60 CXOs) and even during extended times of market turbulence (fiscal, geopolitical) be able to grow the businesses profitably, and(iii) having done the largest number of technology exits in Turkey to date, along with the 1st IPO exit in Turkey.I see myself as a global citizen, having lived in 10 countries, and travelled to more than 55 countries. For the next chapter of my career I will continue to be involved with scale-up technology companies and focus on global opportunities, in the below capacities:1) General Partner @ Global Technology Investment Funds: Growth Funds, Family Offices or CVCs.2) Strategic Advisor or Venture Partner. In addition to my diverse roles at Mediterra, I have assisted 10+ technology companies / VC Funds in areas such as Strategy, GTM, Buy&Build, International Expansion, HR, Finance, Investor Relations etc.3) Intrapreneurship roles. I have co-established 3 businesses that have become sector leaders. (i) Yazara - global softpos leader, sold to Global Payments, (ii) Figopara - largest digital SME lender in Turkey, (iii) Logo Ventures, a leading CVC in Turkey with AuM of +$30m.
