In this role, I led a team of scientists and engineers to scale various Li-ion CAM chemistries (NMC, LFP, and LNMO). Our scale up team frequently collaborated with the R&D team to increase the scale of established and new technologies from gram scales to kilogram scales using equipment aligned with industrial production.

In this position, I exercised my leadership skills to lead a team of scientists and co-op students to develop and scale up LNMO materials. I was responsible to initiate and track projects aimed at scaling LNMO materials from labs scale to kg scales, evaluating our CAM materials externally, and developing new materials for potential customers.

In this position, my knowledge and experience in inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and electrochemistry was used to develop new processes for making Li-ion battery cathode active materials (CAM). I worked with a team of engineers and scientists to ensure the processes developed were novel, environmentally friendly, cost effective, sustainable, and can be scaled to commercial quantities.

-Designated scientist for SEM/EDS analysis, which includes maintaining and calibrating the JEOL JSM-IT300LV Electron Microscope-Work with a group of scientist for investigation projects to determine the root cause of client issues for many industries including pharmaceutical, polymer & medical devices, aerospace, and automotive-Responsible for preparing and analyzing a variety of materials using SEM/EDS, Light Microscopy, and Surface Area analysis while following procedures and policies, Health and Safety, quality, and GMP-Prepare scientific reports and other technical documentation using data collected from various analysis techniques-Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and experimental methods for a variety of analysis techniques including SEM/EDS and Surface Area analysis
