PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Barcelona (UB), his thesis on trans-Saharan mobility between Niger and Libya was awarded the 2017 Extraordinary Prize of the UB. He is an associate professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Master's degree in Migration Studies at the UAB and the UOC.He is a member of several research groups, such as the African Societies Study Group (GESA) at the University of Lleida (UdL) and the African Studies Group (GEA) at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), among others. He holds a Master's degree in Mediation, International Relations and Cooperation from the UAB, Ca' Foscari de Venècia (Italy) and Paul Valery-Montpellier III (France); a Master's degree in Social Development from the Universitat Paul Valery-Montpellier III and a postgraduate degree in conflict and peace communication from the UAB. He is also a journalist and has worked as a consultant for international organisations and NGOs mainly on migration policies in the Sahel region.His main lines of research include: intra-African migration, return migration, borders and identities in the framework of mobility, (in)mobility and climate change and migration governance. He specialises in the Central Sahel sub-region.Currently, he works at the Department of External Action and European Union of the Generalitat de Catalunya, as a technician in charge of Sub-Saharan Africa.
