A family man and businessman. Experienced professional with a demonstrated history of working in the mechanical and industrial engineering.In 1954, influenced by books like Treasure Island, Jules Verne's books and Tarzan book series, I decided I wanted to be a sailor, to see the world.In 1958, at the age of 14 entered the Israel Nautical College in Akko, at the age of 18 entered the Israeli Military Navy on board an ex American Navy ship for 2.5 years. After completing my service I joined the Israeli Merchant Navy for 13 years on cargo and tanker ships as an Engine Cadet through all marine officer ranks to be a Marine Chief Engineer. In between those sailing years I was graduated as a BSc Mechanical Engineer in the Technion. Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.In Dec. 1979 I established my own company, Laor Engineering Ltd. aiming for maintenance in the energy and process industries, oil refineries, Israel Electric Corp, ICL Israel Chemicals group and Many others.The main activities of Laor Engineering are Industrial Cleaning-Chemical and High Pressure water blasting; in 1995 Laor Engineering became Agent and Distributor of John Crane Mechanical Seals and established the first Mech. Seal Refurbishment Center in Israel.In 2014 left John Crane and became Agent Distributor of Flowserve mechanical seals and API pumps. I was also trained in USA as Coating Inspector at NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) ant came back to the Technion to be a government authorized Steam Boiler and Pressure Vessel supervisor. Since then until today, I have been an entrepreneur with my feet on the ground and a long distance vision to the horizon.As CEO of "Laor Engineering", I concentrate on the development of the company I built with my own hands. The company has grown and added new industries to its business, representing interesting foreign companies in Israel. My position opened business opportunities, but mostly friendships with many people in our eco-system and livelihood for my family and the families of all company employees, with almost no employee turnover.Among my most important values are creativity, endless learning and personal development for myself and my employees every year, throughout the year.
