As the lead engineer, I was tasked with building a reliable and super scalable system to handle bursts of sales coming in. I designed the system architecture with a team of dedicated developers using Symfony 2 and 4 on Top of an LNMP stack. For Scalability, AWS was used. At peak, the system was able to handle around 1 million sales within a calendar month with visitors peeking as far as 500K users visiting the site at a single moment.
