EPC-19-053) within the team led by Dr. Chris Mi. - Project title: "Cost-Effective Integration of Second-life EV Batteries with Solar PV Systems for Commercial Buildings"- Improved the neural-network forecasting accuracy for time-series electricity load of commercial buildings in San Diego.

NRF Engineering is an engineering consultancy that works on independent projects in the fields of Energy-efficiency and Aerospace. My role at the company involved: - Auditing the spaces for industrial equipment in use and understanding the needs of a building's electric load.- Working with motors and commercial/industrial grade equipment to better size them for the client's needs. - Researching and gathering data from various sources to eventually create an "Energy Flow Diagram" for Pakistan with Ms. Nida Farid (Chief Engineer of NRF Engineering). This diagram will help the policymakers understand the energy losses that occur in our generation and transmission facilities across the country. - Researching for the best practices around the world in energy-efficiency for industries, transport and buildings. - Contacting and negotiating with suppliers to deliver the most efficient equipment to our clients. - Helping develop some of the upcoming website's content.

- Assisted with on-ground energy-efficiency evaluations for a commercial client. - Worked with electric motors and pumps to drive results for energy-cost savings.

The Communal Spaces Initiative was born out of concern — concern about lack of public spaces in densely populated areas, some of which lie at the heart of Karachi. It's not that spaces do not exist, it's that the existing spaces are dilapidated. We believe that these spaces can be revitalized using the philosophy and approach of placemaking. The Initiative is intended to develop a model which can be applied to other places as well.Our pilot project is the revitalization of the historic and culturally rich Ghalib Library. It has a treasure trove of rare books which, first of all, need to be catalogued according to the latest technology available. We will then go on to making the physical space itself conducive to the needs of the community. All this, of course, requires funds, which we are working on generating.
