Planting 1 million trees with Ireland's 1 million school children & their communities (340+k so far)in collaboration with charity Crann, the Three Council & local authorities: a Climate Justice Action working towards the challenge of the UNEP-backed Plant-for-the-Planet trillion tree campaign. Enjoying work as leader of our own exciting Easy Treesie project; aim; to plant a tree for every child in Ireland by 2024. Tree Planting for Children, what is not to love about this method of taking action on climate change, making our planet cooler! Collaborating with children in 75 countries in the UN Environment Programme-backed Plant-for-the-Planet initiative. After spending decades as a teacher coordinating the efforts of school communities to act to support our environment and leading our school to win 6 Green Flags in the global Eco-Schools International Programme I have gone large with a little help from our friends & supporters foremost among them the team of Crann, Trees for Ireland! My experience putting together campaigns is useful in my role! Teams I lead received Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine Woodland Support Grant 2021-2 & Rethink Ireland 20-21 Award, Our first project (Fingal) won the 2022 Tidy Towns' Special Tree Award, Eco-UNESCO Schools' All-Ireland finalists, 2020 @ReelLifeScience (Youth Group) Film Award, were one of the top 20 projects selected twice by SEAI in their One Good Ideas competition -Dublin and Ireland East/North of Ireland Finalists in Irish Aid's One World competition, selected by Fingal CoCo to present to their Flag winners, Repak national award, EAI National Award winners, filmmakers of "The Irish Tree Trail" and more....it goes on, you just can't stop us planting trees 'till we finish that million, ask my colleagues, my family and my friends! (After that...we'll go for a billion...seriously...we'll still only have about around (like say Belgium) 17.5% canopy, around half the average European average...

Green Schools coordinator from when I instigated the initiative in 2005 in our school community to August 2018.Privileged to be able to job share over a 21-year spell. Such joy to work in a team, huge gratitude especially to my two teaching partners. & I so enjoyed all the other nice opportunities of course; like staging Tree shows, Christmas Pageant and producing it in the church with backing from the Senior Choir 1999 - 2003. Such fun.

Enjoyed every minute of my time at St. Maccullin's N.S.; Highlights - my years as INTO staff rep with its many challenges as we campaigned- successfully - for better conditions, our beautifully refurbished old schoolhouse; writing musicals for the annual show, co-ordinating aspects of our English curriculum including publishing slim volumes of poetry, Gala days of Communion and Confirmation classes and sunny sports days in our glorious field, a favourite spot of the Ward Union Hunt.
