Photographer and co-founder of Coalesce, a space which generates work for small creative businesses who can group together to compete on large contracts and procurement projects. I grew up around newsroom talk and press photographers. Some of the earliest photographs taken of me were by Irish Times Photographers who might have been visiting the house or out with my Dad covering a story.My teens continued to be filled with photography thanks to an Art teacher with an interest, a school darkroom and work experience with the Irish Times and later the Irish Independent. I've continued that interest into my adulthood working with a large Dublin agency and then independently as a sole trader. I've been lucky enough to now earn a living from photography.In 2020, I co-founded Coalesce with partner Shane O'Neill. Coalesce has emerged after working 20 years in the photographic industry and identifying a gap in the marketplace. Small individual creative companies with less resources have difficulty in accessing larger procurement projects and can also find it quite isolating working on their own. Coalesce solves this for its collaborative community. We offer increased revenue, a larger marketplace and educative opportunities for our group which now combines photographers and videographers and will keep expanding.
