In my present position, I am providing Project Management services to the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works; I manage public works municipal infrastructure projects through planning, design, communication and public relations, jurisdictional approvals, environmental permitting, bid/award, construction and close-out. The management of these projects also requires planning and development, resource management, budget and schedule management and control, design and construction administration.During my time at Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, I lead all activities (usually turnkey projects) within a team structure, related to project management for project development, design, engineering and construction of lighting, electrical and control systems (including POE lighting systems) – project initiation, estimating, processing bid documents, scheduling, contract award, engineering and construction management, financial reporting, coordinating orders and purchases, coordinating procurement of services, coordinating/resolving field/site problems, communication with internal upper management, subcontractors, engineers, clients and government agencies; and documenting the project to closure and client turn over. Types of projects include: CK Bridges, Parking Structures, Office Buildings, Roadways – street lighting, Parks and Rec. facilities, Stadiums and Sport Arenas.My previous experience is in the areas of administration, design, and construction of public works projects (26+ years) - Capital Projects/Infrastructure. I have extensive experience supervising and managing large multi-disciplinary engineering teams. I have worked in energy efficiency, renewable energy, remote monitoring systems, LED technology and Testing/Evaluation of solar generation and lighting technologies. I am a Register professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California. Most projects consisted of contract administration, multi-disciplinary design/construction of different types of Public Works Capital Projects - roads, tunnels, bridges, stairways, pedestrian areas, parking lots, transit areas/facilities, bikeways, and electrical/lighting systems in the public right-of-way. Other systems included: cameras, telecommunication equipment, high voltage lighting systems and traffic signal design/construction coordination. I also have 10 years of experience working with the City of LA in the administration, design and construction of the Metro Light Rail and Subway Systems – Public Lighting Systems.
