•I have 20 years of lifework experience in education from teaching, serving as an assistant principal, and currently serving as a high school principal. •My passion for being an educator comes from what my life might have been had it not been for teachers and adults who were committed to my success. I work every day to honor their work out of gratitude for the impact they made on my life. •I believe that schools should ensure each student reaches their full potential with teachers that are honest, evenhanded, seek equity, and see the potential of all students. I also believe that the community has a responsibility to share its knowledge and experiences as it partners with teachers to educate and develop the whole child. •My experiences have been unique with the focus on developing and implementing systems that impact curriculum development, engaged learning environments, differentiated instruction, student development, crisis resolution, parental and community involvement, personnel management, and budget analysis. •I have extensive experience in turning around schools in two districts. In both experiences I have lead a team of individuals to positively impact the lives of students in ways that gave them a hope and chance for success in society. Through professional team building, fostering relationships with students and the community, focused intervention, and deliberate actions with staff I helped lead two campuses to academic success.
