Job Summary: Responsible for day-to-day oversight and direction of all production activities (all areas) and all direct labor employees. Responsible for ensuring the adherence to meeting scheduled task completion. Works closely with Production Control Manager to resolve resource conflicts and maintain on-time performance. Ensures all employees understand the time keeping system and the importance of timely and accurate job cost recording. Also, that time is recorded properly to the right job  Works with Production Control and Material Handling to make sure work is staged at the right work center according to the schedule Ensures employees know the budgeted time allotted per operation and monitors performance.  Works with Production Control and Purchasing on anticipated material shortages and helps adjust the schedule accordingly, preventing surprise and wasted efforts on the mfg floor  Identifies and addresses the need for concentrated or additional work effort in any bottleneck area  May interface with sales, customers as needed and participates in product rescheduling and modifications of the production plan  Reviews capacity utilization and planned activity to see potential resource constraints while there may still be time to implement a recovery plan Trains employees on the scheduling tools/reports provided by JobBoss so we see maximum benefit of our planning activity  Participates in production meetings with Production Control and shop floor Team Leaders with the intent of discussing potential production issues prior to them becoming costly recovery plans  Reviews overall schedule daily with Production Control to identify any changes/potential changes to planned activity Other responsibilities may be added or assumed based on necessity
