About Ian Ormiston

In 2020 I retired as a fund manager having been a European equities investor for 25 years. Most recently as the manager of the Merian Europe (Ex. UK) Smaller Companies Fund. I am interested in roles in a non-executive capacity as I still have a passion for investing and the industry and bring a wealth of experience. I have remained in touch with my friends in the industry and continue to manage my own pension. As a fundamental investor I have strong financial and business analytical skills. Having worked in a range of companies I understand the importance of risk and governance frameworks. Over the last year I have spent considerable amounts of time researching ESG policies and outcomes, particularly in the context of climate change. I work very well with others and am a good communicator having launched and grown a number of funds through my career.
