I have over 40 years’ taxation experience and advise major corporate clients on all aspects of GST, and am currently named as one of Australia's leading GST advisors by the International Tax Review. I was previously a senior partner at PwC where I was National GST Leader as well as Chief Executive Officer of PwC Legal. I have also been a senior partner at Deloitte.I was the inaugural co-chair and am a current member of the ATO’s GST Stewardship group which has a charter to improve the operation and administration of Australia’s GST system. I am also the chair of the Indirect Tax Committee for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.I am a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and of the High Court of Australia, and have been involved in numerous litigation matters involving all areas of indirect tax, including proceedings involving constitutional, administrative and restitutionary law. I have been involved in several landmark GST cases including Qantas and Travelex in the High Court.I hold a Master of Laws and Bachelor of Arts. I was appointed an Adjunct Professor, School of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, UNSW Business School, in August 2023. I am a frequent commentator on GST issues and have published numerous papers.On Australia Day 2022 I was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the law.
