The MARE Foundation was established to protect marine ecosystems (focusing on the Baltic Sea) through social and political changes. We are striving for the future in which the society is aware of and responsive to ecological issues and lives in harmony with seas and oceans. For the future in which we abandon the anthropocentric way of thinking and stop giving in to the pressure of constant growth. Main areas of our activities include: education and awareness raising, popularizing science and ecological philosophy, wreck management, marine litter, sustainable fisheries, climate change.As the CEO I am responsible for coordination and supervision of all of the foundation's work and activity, including strategy planning, operational activities, project management, educational activities, contacts with business partners and media, fundraising. Up to date info about our activities can be found on our social media. Some of our projects over the years included:- 2022: Operation Ghost - project in partnership with the Maritime University in Szczecin and the Biotherm brand with an aim to clean selected shipwrecks from ghost gears.- 2021-ongoing: Marine Litter Bins - mobilizing business to participate in Baltic Sea conservation through financing dedicated marine litter bins for harbors.- 2020-ongoing: organization of annual celebration of World Cleanup Day,- 2018-2021: Project "Reduction of the negative impact of oil spills from the FRANKEN shipwreck" implemented in partnership with the Maritime Institute in Gdańsk; - 2019-2021: MSC Assessment of the Polish Fishery for Herring, Sprat and Flatfish to the MSC Standard; - 2017-2020: 2 editions of the Clean Baltic Project implemented together with 9 Polish small-scale fisheries organizations. As a result of the projects 300 tonnes of litter was removed from the Baltic.- 2017: Campaign against deep sea mining in partnership with Seas at Risk, Institute of Global Responsibility (IGO) and Deep Sea Conservation Coalition.

Logistics coordination of an international roadshow for investors in connection with the issuance of euro-denominated covered bonds; organization of branding events and business meetings; regular internal and external communication tasks (including: preparation of newsletters, maintenance of website content, preparation of press releases, contacts with the media)

Coordination of the project: "Campaign for the protection of biodiversity of seas and oceans" aimed at increasing public awareness about the effects of daily consumer choices on marine biodiversity.In May 2016 the campaign was awarded and presented as a good example of building consumer awareness of responsible choices at the Barometer of CSR Conference organized by the Responsible Business Forum in Poland.Activities carried out within the project included: educational TV campaign, series of culinary workshop, workshops for producers and retailers in the field of traceability in the supply chain, international scientific conferences on sustainable fisheries.

My responsibilities included, among others: creation of educational materials concerning environmental protection and the Baltic Sea (sustainable farming, ghost nets, sustainable fisheries, mammal protection), organization of scientific conferences and educational events aimed at raising society’s awareness about marine conservation; research and preparation of technical input for press releases and scientific reports; assistance in the organization of the annual Baltic Sea Farmer Of The Year competition; as well as financial work, including preparation of technical and financial reports to the donors (BalticSea 2020, EEA Grants, internal funding from WWF)

My responsibilities included preparation and maintenance of project documentation, organization of workshops under the projects "Professionalism as a lever of trade" and "Enterprising Masovian District"; preparation and distribution of informational and promotional materials within the project "I'm teaching computer sciences with a passion"; as well as organization of postgraduate studies and international exchanges under the Socrates Erasmus Programme.
