I am a marine conservation specialist and educator with 10 years of demonstrated history of working in the non-profit sector. Since 2017, the head of the MARE Foundation - a Polish NGO focused on Baltic Sea conservation, cooperating with scientific institutions, both in Poland and other Baltic countries, to create a better future for us, for the Baltic Sea and for other marine ecosystems worldwide. In 2021, I was named as one of the Women of the Year by Forbes Women Poland as an activist for the Baltic Sea, who drew public attention to the problem of dangerous wrecks in the Baltic and has been calling for more actions to protect Baltic ecosystem.I aspire to be a dynamic, impactful and innovative activist, with deep understanding of Baltic Sea marine conservation issues, entanglements and challenges, especially in relation to marine litter, potentially polluting wrecks (shipwreck management), sustainable fisheries and climate change. Through my work I try to connect, mobilize and support effective partnerships across sectors and institutions. I hope that through my activities I can help to shift the way we think about nature and how we relate to it. All of this in hope of contributing my small part to the emergence of a new kind of a non-anthropocentric community that abandons the materialistic drive for development and lives in harmony with seas and oceans and other ecosystems, giving them the respect and rights they deserve.Main areas of my activities include: - climate change awareness raising (focusing on the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems), - shipwreck management (coordination of campaigning, lobbying and scientific activities aimed at convincing the government/other stakeholders to implement a wreck management programme in Poland and to start taking preventative measures and retrieve oil from the potentially dangerous wrecks), - marine litter (1. educating the society about the dangers posed by marine litter and possible measures to be taken to limit our impact on marine ecosystems; 2. coordination of ghost nets retrieval projects, 3. organization of cleanups and other dedicated events), - sustainable fisheries (cooperation with fishermen and Marine Stewardship Council).
Listed skills include Sustainability, Environmental Awareness, Management, Project Management, and 3 others.
