Led a Boston and Zambia-based team responsible for the set up and development of JSI's independent affiliate in Zambia, John Snow Health Zambia (JSH). Served as a member of JSH's Executive Committee until December 2022 leading business development efforts resulting in $90m in funding in three years and hiring JSH's first Executive Director. Served as a Senior Advisor to the JSH Executive Director leading JSI's continued organizational development support to JSH.

Greater Boston Area

Lead HQ representative responsible for strategic planning, managerial oversight, and technical advisory support to bilateral projects (contracts, CAs) including the five year $150m USAID Supporting an AIDS-Free Era (SAFE) in Zambia and USAID Strengthening Ethiopia’s Urban Health Program (SEUHP). Served as the corporate new business development and operations point of contact for Zambia and Indonesia. Led a range of new business opportunities including conducting capture work, coordinating proposals, and writing technical proposals. Co-led efforts to develop new business for JSI’s health markets programming.

Boston, Ma

Developed a strategy to diversify and grow PIH's funding base with bilateral and multilateral donor funding to cover planned work, introduce new interventions, and scale existing ones to complement its core primary healthcare delivery model in 10 countries (including U.S.). Developed partnerships and mobilized $35 million in new funding surpassing internal targets. Managed the day to day operations of a ten person team supervising up to eight staff. Built a proposal development system and fostered a collaborative new business development culture. Served as Acting Director for four months.

Served as the lead HQ representative to the USAID Targeted States High Impact Project (TSHIP) a six year $100m MNCH/FP project in Nigeria, and other donor/client-funded health system strengthening projects in multiple countries providing management and technical oversight and support. Provided targeted technical assistance (M&E, NGO/local government capacity development, market-based approaches (CHX market shaping) to range of projects. Led new business development i.e., identifying opportunities, coordinating proposal teams, designing projects, writing proposals for proposals ranging from $1m to $300m. Founding member and advisor to the JSI/WEI Center for Capacity Development.

Provided technical assistance in M&E (i.e., design of M&E plans and systems; survey design and implementation; support to routine health information systems; use of data for decision making and planning) to USAID and other donor/client-funded health projects in Nigeria, Uganda, Pakistan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, and other countries. Completed short term consultancies focused on business development, primarily for JSI and Mercy Corps. Lead designer and writer on the winning EC funded SECURE, a food security and nutrition program in Timor-Leste.

Aceh, Indonesia

Directed field office of 50 staff and three integrated programs (market development, school nutrition, community development) while also serving as the Manager of the Market Development Program. As Head of Office, managed program strategy, business development, office operations, and partnerships. As Program Manager, led market assessments, designed market-based approaches, and built capacity of a wide range of businesses (i.e., agriculture, microfinance, health) in the areas of strategy, business development, financing, and management. Piloted a market text message service social enterprise. Mentored an Indonesian Manager who took over the Program Manager role.

Shartuz, Tajikistan

Lead manager of this integrated, multi-sectoral program (enterprise development, community health, food security) including two offices and 30 staff. Established/developed Tajikistan's first eight business incubators, which supported business (i.e., agriculture, service, health sectors) start-up and mentoring; three of the incubators became independent social enterprises. Oversaw health, nutrition, and animal health training and community outreach program.

Provided management and administrative support to USAID-funded projects including an NGO Cost Recovery Project which assisted the largest national family planning provider in Jordan in the areas of strategy, business development, and financial sustainability and a large child health and nutrition project in Ethiopia. Supported new business development in a variety of roles.

Supported daily management and operations and Board relations of this community-based family services nonprofit (child care, public assistance referrals, food pantry) in Chinatown, San Francisco.

Botha-Bothe, Lesotho

Started and managed a portfolio of social enterprises in which income was used for schools' lunch programs. Incorporated nutrition and health education into schools. Worked with community leaders to provide HIV/AIDS prevention education outreach to nearby communities. Founding Board Member of Botha-Bothe's first library. Started and institutionalized a high school newspaper and creative writing club.
