About Oscar Portillo

I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major at the University of Houston. Currently I am passionate about robotics and the development of Drones for recreational and research purposes. As the Drone Chief for my University I lead a team of interested students to engage in drone related projects. Currently we are working on developing remote controlled drones powered by microcontrollers with plans to advance towards full autonomy. Outside of school I’m into robots and AI , I’m very much committed to improving my programming and drafting skills through creating various projects. So far Ive learned ArduinoC, python, micropython, and C++. In terms of drafting I’ve learned Fusion360 and Solidworks.In the future I hope to keep expanding my knowledge in these subjects and eventually apply my skills in a way that can positively impact society.
