The reporter's job is to cover/write stories for the University Times, from breaking news to feature stories. Going out of their way to cover events that are deemed worthy storytelling for students and faculty members to read about. As well as interviewing three to six people to get the most information about a story as possible. A digital editor is in charge of publishing stories online to the University Times website. They are also in charge of adding tags, categories, and appropriate photos for the story and making sure that the grammar is correct and not out of place. On average, it takes about 4-5 days to interview, write and publish a story before newsprint, and a few more to edit and finalize wording and photos for both print and online publishing

A reporter for Talon Marks is in charge of covering stories that vary in breaking news, city hall coverage, and features talking about specific people. They are in charge of getting all information possible from the story as well as interviewing the most appropriate people that fit the story or if they are involved in it. Arts and Entertainment Editor is in charge of publishing and approving stories specific to arts and entertainment. It can be reviews of movies or shows to opinions or features of what's happening in the entertainment industry. A&E editors are also in charge of making sure the story that they or other writers are typing are accurate and free of errors before sending them to the Editor in Cheif. On average, the length it takes to write a story takes about 2-3 days.
