I have been working in the Sell Side Order Execution team for Bloomberg as a Senior Software Engineer. Our team handles the Sell Side Pre-trade Negotiation of a trade and interacts with a variety of other teams inside the company. I worked at Oracle in a cluster filesystem product. I have worked in the development and testing of new functionality in the file system and clusterware areas. I have worked in the different stages of the product from the design phase all the way to the implementation and testing stage of the product.My team has been responsible to come up with a High Availability NFS solution for clusters using the Oracle Clusterware infrastructure and I have contributed with bug fixing as well as performance improvement proposals. During my time at the company, my problem determination and communications skills have improved greatly, and they have become essential for achieving common goals when working with teams across the globe.Joining this team has also given me the opportunity to work in the development of system level utilities, mostly for UNIX platforms; and to interact with the native system ones to the point of even finding bugs in some of them, for example the Linux NFS utilities. It has also allowed me learn how to debug complex error scenarios in cluster environments, and to work across different components and teams.I was the first developer working for the ACFS team at Oracle México Development Center, and I earned a reputation as a valuable, cooperative coworker by being willing to help others, showing leadership skills and coming up with creative solutions to complex problems. During my time at the company, the team members number grew up considerably, and it was recognized as the one with the best performance evaluations from the whole center. I also got promoted to Senior Member of Technical Staff while working here.The projects where I have contributed at this job have required the use of the C, C++ and Perl programming languages.
